Shettima Returns to Abuja After Representing Nigeria at AU Summit

Vice President Kashim Shettima has returned to Abuja after representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government and the 30th General Assembly of the African Union, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

During the summit, the Vice President participated in key heads-of-state meetings and attended several high-level side events focused on continental governance, development, and economic cooperation.

He also held bilateral engagements with political and business leaders across Africa, aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic relations, expanding economic cooperation, and deepening strategic partnerships within the continent.

The engagements, according to the Vice President, are part of ongoing efforts by the Federal Government to enhance Nigeria’s leadership role in regional development and continental integration initiatives.
