Nigeria’s foremost Maltina company has organized a Qur’anic competition and Iftar at Zazzau Palace. The company stated that it has been supporting the yearly Qur’anic competition, which takes place every Ramadan, for four years.
The Consultant of the Maltina Company, Abdulkadir Sarki, expressed happiness for supporting and providing food for Iftar. He said the company hopes to continue supporting such programs and is eager to support similar initiatives next year.
The Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, expressed his delight in witnessing such events during the month of Ramadan and prayed to Allah to reward the organizers. He thanked the Maltina Company for supporting the Qur’anic competitors and winners, and encouraged the students to do more, saying it’s an effort to motivate others. The Emir also highlighted that the Zazzau Emirate has graduated 2000 students who have memorized the Holy Qur’an, and urged children to seek knowledge and acquire skills for a better future.
Bolaji Layeni, Governoment Affairs Manager, Nigerian Breweries Plc in an interview with journalists said the purpose of supporting the program is to help in promoting education and giving back to the society. He said the Company’s vision under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is to help in building education as the company is sponsoring many events that help in assisting young learners to grow and become champions in the society. The officer added that Maltina Company is building infrastructure for schools, giving out teaching materials and stationary to schools.
The winners of the competition received awards presented by the Maltina Company. Salaha Ahmad from Tijjani Dan Ali School for Qur’anic Memorization and Islamic Studies, Anwarul Isalam, Kwarbai Zaria, was the overall winner and received N200,000. Other winners included Abdubasit Muktar (N150,000) and Zainab Musa (N100,000). Also, the Company gave a recommendation award to the Emir of Zazzau for his outstanding assistance to people and education.
