The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 92 suspected internet fraudsters in Benin City, Edo State.

The suspects were picked up in a sting operation by operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Commission on Monday, September 29, 2025, at different locations across the city.

According to the EFCC, their arrest followed credible intelligence linking them to computer-related fraud. During the operation, 11 vehicles and several mobile devices were recovered.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were allegedly involved in various forms of internet fraud.

The Commission said the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
