It’s with profound sadness that I bid farewell to my beloved Uncle, Chief Dr. Paul Abiyong, the Oedau Oegworok, who has left an indelible mark on our lives. “A tree falls but its seeds remain,” and Oedau’s legacy will continue to inspire us.
His passing is a colossal loss and it is hard to come to terms with the void he leaves behind. “When an elder dies, a library burns,” Oedau’s wealth of experience and wisdom will be deeply missed.
Oedau was a paragon of discipline, commitment and loyalty. His dedication to his community earned him the esteemed title of Oedau Oegworok, a confirmation to his passion for humanity. As a leader, he served as a one-time Kagoro Development Association (GDA) leader, leaving a lasting impact. “A good leader leaves a legacy,” and Oedau’s leadership will be remembered for generations to come.He was indeed a strong force to Kagoro movement.
His commitment to the Church and his faith was unwavering, he departed this life as a devoted Roman Catholic Knight .Beyond being an Older brother, he was a Mentor whose wealth of experience inspired me. “The memory of the righteous is blessed,” and Oedau’s memory will forever be cherished.
May our Almighty God grant the family, the Kagoro Traditional Council, Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic Zaria, Kaduna State University and the entire Kaduna state the strength to bear this loss. May His divine comfort envelop all during this difficult time.
Farewell Oedau Oegworok. Your memory will forever be cherished.
Thanks.
Prof. Benjamin Kumai Gugong,JAGABAN- Kagoro,
