President Bola Ahmed Tinubu says he cancelled his scheduled trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa in order to personally coordinate ongoing security operations across the country.
In a statement on Sunday 23rd November, 2025, the President confirmed that all 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State, have been rescued, following intensified military and intelligence efforts. He also announced that 51 of the students abducted from a Catholic school in Niger State have been safely recovered.
Tinubu noted that he is receiving continuous updates from security commanders and monitoring developments nationwide.
The President reiterated his commitment to ending insecurity, insisting that every Nigerian “has the right to safety, regardless of where they live.”
“I will not relent,” he said. “Under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people.”
