I woke up to the heartbreaking news of yet another tragic killing in Tanda Village of Gwong Chiefdom in the early hours of October 5, 2025, around 1:30 a.m. This is a deeply painful moment for our people — a reminder of how fragile peace can be when the sanctity of human life is disregarded.

I condemn, in the strongest possible terms, this brutal and senseless act. No grievance, no difference, and no motive can justify the taking of innocent lives. Those responsible for this heinous crime must not go unpunished. I therefore call on the relevant security agencies to swing into immediate and thorough action to bring the perpetrators to book.

The identity of those who carried out this attack cannot remain hidden — they live among us, and they know us by houses and faces. It is time for our communities to stand firm on the side of peace and justice. I urge the security operatives to build trust with the people of Gwong land and to work closely with community leaders, vigilante groups, and youth bodies in their investigations. Our people are willing to cooperate; what they need is confidence that their voices will be heard and protected.

To the bereaved families, I extend my deepest condolences. May you find comfort and strength in the love of your community. To the entire Gwong Nation, I pray that peace — true, lasting peace — will reign once again in our land.

We have endured enough bloodshed. Now is the time to reaffirm our collective resolve to live together, to protect one another, and to ensure that justice prevails.
