DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA. November 1, 2025 | Kabido News

Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan has won a landslide re-election, securing 97.66 percent of the vote, according to official results announced by the country’s electoral commission on Saturday.

The announcement, broadcast live on state television, confirmed her overwhelming victory and stated that a swift swearing-in ceremony would follow the same day.

President Hassan, who first assumed office in 2021 after the sudden death of her predecessor, John Magufuli, has since sought to consolidate her leadership amid internal resistance from some segments of the military and loyalists of the late president.

Political observers say the emphatic win not only cements her authority but also signals strong public endorsement of her leadership and reform agenda.
