The city of Kaduna has opened its doors to delegates from across Nigeria as it plays host to the 47th Session of the National Council on Agriculture and Food Security, taking place from November 3rd to 7th, 2025, at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Hall. Governor Uba Sani is expected to officially declare the event open on Thursday.

Delivering his address at the opening ceremony, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Agriculture, Malam Murtala Dabo, warmly welcomed participants on behalf of the state government and the people of Kaduna, describing the gathering as “a vital national dialogue on the future of agriculture.”

Malam Dabo recalled Kaduna’s successful bid to host the Council during the 46th edition held in Calabar, Cross River State, noting that the realization of that bid reflects Kaduna’s strong credentials and unwavering commitment to agricultural advancement.

He further emphasized that the Council has grown beyond being a mere policy platform — it now serves as “a space for reflection, learning, and renewal, where states share experiences, forge collaborations, and align strategies for national growth.”

The five-day event is expected to focus on innovative policies, sustainable practices, and actionable frameworks aimed at achieving Nigeria’s food security goals and advancing the agricultural transformation agenda.
