In continuation part of activities marking the 38th anniversary of Katsina State, Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda yesterday commissioned a 300KW Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system at the Katsina General Hospital.
The project is a major milestone in his administration’s drive to strengthen healthcare delivery through reliable and sustainable energy solutions.
In his remarks, Governor Radda explained that the solar project was designed to ensure uninterrupted power supply at the hospital, thereby improving the quality of service for both healthcare workers and patients.
“With this initiative, the hospital can now enjoy 24-hour electricity, providing a more conducive atmosphere for healthcare professionals to perform their duties effectively and for patients to receive better care,” the Governor said.
Governor Radda expressed gratitude to all stakeholders who contributed to the project and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to deploying renewable energy solutions across critical sectors, particularly in healthcare and education.
Dignitaries at the event included the Speaker of Katsina State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura; the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Musa Adamu; the Special Adviser on Power and Energy, Dr. Hafiz Ahmed; the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Hajiya Zainab Musa Musawa; and the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor, Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji, alongside other senior government officials and invited guests.
