Nigeria has inaugurated the Project Steering Committee for the Niger Delta Ferry Service Project to enhance trade, mobility and inclusion across riverine communities. Finance Minister Wale Edun joined Niger Delta Minister Abubakar Momoh at the event in Abuja.
The project aims to build a modern marine transport system linking communities, cutting trade costs and improving access. Edun said efficient transport fuels productivity and prosperity, enabling private-sector growth and social inclusion across the region.
Aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda, the initiative will connect traders, workers and service providers, opening new corridors for commerce, tourism and jobs. It underscores Nigeria’s commitment to sustainable growth and regional development.
