The Kaduna State High Court has convicted and sentenced one Solomon Ilemona Emmanuel for internet-related fraud.

Justice M.J. Zubairu, presiding over the case on Monday, September 29, 2025, delivered the verdict after Emmanuel pleaded guilty to a one-count charge of impersonation filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Kaduna Zonal Directorate.

According to the EFCC, Emmanuel—who also operated under the alias SANTI XII—used a fake Facebook profile to defraud unsuspecting victims, an offense that contravenes Section 142 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law, 2017.

Prosecuting counsel M.J. Argungu urged the court to convict and sentence the defendant following his plea. Justice Zubairu subsequently sentenced Emmanuel to three years imprisonment or a ₦200,000 fine.

Additionally, the court ordered the forfeiture of his Tecno Camon Pro smartphone, while Emmanuel had already refunded ₦6,057,488.13 to his victims.

Investigations revealed that the convict belonged to a cybercrime syndicate operating out of Kafanchan, Kaduna State, where he served as a “picker” — receiving illicit funds through a Chinese vendor and forwarding them to other members of the network.
