Meeting of the Coalition of Federal Pensioners of Nigeria
Date: 9th September, 2025
Following the meeting of the Coalition of Federal Pensioners of Nigeria held on Tuesday, 9th September 2025, the following resolutions were reached:
1. Press Conference
A press conference shall be held on Tuesday, 16th September 2025 at GPO Marina, Lagos Island, Lagos, by 10:00 a.m.
Purpose: To expose the actions of the Ministry of Finance and to present our agitation before the nation and the international community.
2. Implementation of Pension Increment
The Federal Government must implement the ₦32,000 pension increment with the September pension.
Payment of all arrears and the ₦25,000 palliative for September must also be effected immediately.
Failure to comply shall result in a nationwide naked protest on Monday, 6th October 2025.
3. Appreciation and Demand on PTAD
We commend PTAD for restoring the back-end computation in the August pension. However, we demand the following:
Immediate payment to all affected pensioners who were omitted.
Clarification that this applies to parastatals pensioners only.
Urgent settlement of arrears from deductions made in October 2023, without further delay.
4. Mobilization for Protest
All pensioners are directed to pray, prepare, and mobilize members in readiness for the October 6th protest.
5. Appreciation to Members
We sincerely appreciate all pensioners for their patience, resilience, and confidence in our collective struggle.
6. Prayers
We pray for:
Long life and good health for pensioners, so that we may personally receive our entitlements.
Eternal rest for our departed colleagues who lost their lives due to the delay in implementing the ₦32,000 pension increment and the ₦25,000 palliative.
May their gentle souls rest in perfect peace.
