Amina, a resilient woman who attributes her strength not to her own dreams alone, but to the unwavering support she receives from her husband, Muktar. She cherishes him with profound passion and love, for he means the world to her. Muktar empowers her, giving her the wings to fly, and his encouragement has been her power, especially during her fifth pregnancy when she faced challenges.

Recounting her journey, Amina confided in Muktar about her desire to conceive after graduation, expressing her struggles with attending school during her three-month pregnancy.

Her aspiration was clear, she wanted to become a productive woman in her community, unlike some women in Northern Nigeria who remain idle. Driven by her ambitions and Muktar’s dreams for her, Amina was determined to carve a different path.

“Without Muktar, I am nothing,” she admits, one Saturday morning.

One day, Muktar promised Amina, “I promise to take you to school and bring you back home before I go to my shop.”

Though Amina knew this would impact his business, she appreciated his commitment and sought to reciprocate his love. She insisted on managing her pregnancy until it reached a critical stage, wanting to give him the opportunity to fulfil his promise.

The time came – coincidentally during their examination period – Amina faced severe pain,

“Ah, I don’t think I can.”

Muktar went to her, kneeling before her, looking into her eyes filled with love, and gently touching her forehead.

“Sorry, let me take you back to the car,” he said with a soft smile that alleviated her pain and instilled courage.

As he drove her carefully to the College of Administrative and Social Sciences Studies (CASSS), Sabo Campus, Kaduna Polytechnic, Muktar kept her laughing and smiling. He escorted her to the department entrance, prayed for her, and waited in the car for her to finish her exam.

Labouring with pain, Amina persevered in writing, motivated by a desire to make Muktar happy as he did for her. When she reappeared, Muktar greeted her with a smile, held her hand, and rushed her to the hospital.

After an hour, their newborn baby boy’s cry filled the air – she had delivered.

Admirably, the next morning, Muktar took Amina back to school for her next paper.

“I know this dream will surely come true with this supporting husband,” Amina said, poised to submit her paper, embodying the power of love and encouraging husband.
