Honorable Daniel Amos, a distinguished member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Jema’a/Sanga and Committee Chairman on House Services, along with Honorable Ali Kalat, Majority Leader of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, have announced their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). This decisive move marks a transformative political shift in the local government areas, the state, and the nation.

The official declaration was made on Friday, October 24, 2025, during a significant meeting organized with Honorable Peter Tanko Dogara, Executive Chairman of Jema’a Local Government Area, and Honorable Anto Usman, Executive Chairman of Sanga Local Government Area. This significant gathering brought together political appointees, APC local government chairmen, party executives, and key stakeholders at the Jema’a Local Government Council Secretariat in Kafanchan.

The attendance of top APC leaders from across the state highlights the importance of this strategic decision made by both lawmakers.

In his remarks, Honorable Daniel Amos made it clear that his decision was the result of extensive consultations with stakeholders and constituents. “After thorough engagement with the community as your servant-leader, I am confidently aligning with the APC for the progressive development of our constituency,” he asserted.

He further emphasized that this choice stems not from desperation but from a position of strength. “We are joining the APC not because we lack options, but because we recognize the immense value we bring. We come equipped with a ministry of reconciliation,” Honorable Daniel declared emphatically.

Honorable Ali Kalat also reinforced the rationale behind their defection, stating that their transition to the APC aims to fundamentally reshape the political landscape of the region. This strategic shift is expected to have significant ramifications as the nation gears up for the upcoming elections.

Earlier, in his opening remarks, Honourable Peter Tanko Dogara, Executive Chairman of Jema’a Local Government Area, welcomed everyone to the Council and wished the newly joined lawmakers of the ruling party success in advancing the agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani. Meanwhile, Honourable Anto Usman, Executive Chairman of Sanga Local Government Area, emphasized the importance of collaboration to ensure that both the party APC and its candidates succeed in the upcoming elections.
